HIPAA-Aware Confidential, secure handling
24/7 Dispatch Same-day rides available

The difference is in the details we never skip.

On-time, every time

Dialysis can't wait. We arrive 10–15 minutes early and build buffer time into every route so a missed pickup doesn't become a missed treatment.

Trained & compassionate crew

Every driver is CPR-certified, background-checked, and trained in passenger assist, transfer techniques, and respectful patient care.

One number. One team.

No call centers, no transfers. When you book with Astra, the same dispatch coordinates pickup, communicates updates, and confirms arrival.

Premium-quality fleet

Modern, sanitized vehicles with climate control, securement systems inspected before every shift, and ADA-compliant ramps and lifts.

Greater Houston coverage

From the Texas Medical Center to Sugar Land, Katy to Missouri City — we cover Fort Bend, Harris, and surrounding counties.

Insurance & private pay

We work with Medicaid MTM, private insurance, hospital discharge planners, and accept all major private-pay arrangements.

Pricing & Payment

Clear pricing. No surprise charges.

Most NEMT pricing is built to confuse. Ours is built to be quoted upfront and matched to the invoice — without “fuel surcharges,” hidden minimums, or surprise wait-time fees.

Common Questions

Honest answers to the questions families actually ask.

Is this an ambulance service?
No. Astra Mobility is a non-emergency medical transportation provider. If your situation is a medical emergency, call 911 immediately. We specialize in scheduled medical transport — dialysis, doctor visits, treatments, discharges, and inter-facility transfers — where safety and care matter, but the situation is stable.
How much does a ride cost, and what does insurance cover?
Private-pay rates are flat-rate by trip and mobility level — no surprises. We participate with Medicaid MTM brokers, several private insurers, and bill hospitals and facilities directly for discharges. Call dispatch with your insurance information and we’ll verify coverage before your ride.
How far in advance do I need to book?
For recurring trips (like dialysis), we set up a permanent schedule that you can rely on for months at a time. For one-time appointments, 24–48 hours is ideal, but same-day requests are usually possible — call dispatch and we’ll do everything we can to accommodate.
Can a family member ride along?
Yes — one family member or caregiver may ride with the patient at no additional charge on most transports. For stretcher rides where space is limited, please let dispatch know in advance so we can plan accordingly.
What if my loved one is bedridden or above 300 lbs?
Our stretcher and bariatric service is built exactly for this. We have reinforced equipment, lift systems, and two-person crews trained in safe transfers.
Are your drivers really trained for medical situations?
Every Astra driver passes a national background check, completes CPR and First Aid certification, and is trained in passenger assistance, transfer techniques, infection control, and HIPAA-aware communication. We don’t hire from ride-share pools.
